My Whole Life Is Thunder: hermi0ne239: I really don’t like Elementary. I am probably biased,...

hermi0ne239:

I really don’t like Elementary. I am probably biased, seeing as I am such a fan of Sherlock, but I have also read the books, and I do not like it.

I didn’t find it very suspenseful at all (I actually got bored), and I wasn’t impressed by Sherlock Holmes’ powers of deduction…

Haha, lol I seriously cannot with people who said they read the books and Sherlock in Elementary is so different from the books. If we are talking about character Elementary and RDJ’s Sherlock is closer to the novels. I dare say that Elementary’s Sherlock is better than the rest including the books because the character grows so significantly within a couple episodes whereas Sherlock in the novels was clearly a product of his times and the BBC Sherlock just, well I am going to not get into that but they could have given Benedict better material to work with.

BBC Sherlock’s powers of deduction was dependent on every one around him being incompetent and stupid, Elementary’s Sherlock does not require every one around him to be an idiot. Now the BBC version didn’t start out that way but after the first ep, Watson’s contributions as the rest of the characters became significantly meaningless to show case how super awesome Sherlock is. BBC Sherlock IMO needs better writers, whatever my opinion of the cast members are personally, they are good actors who were given abysmal material.

Filed under sherlock elementary the writers of sherlock have a long list of flaws one being they can't write worth shit BBC could be better but hiring a bunch of dudes with british accents does not make the characters smart good writing does that

  • the more i think about it as i re-read the complete works of sherlock holmes is
  • benedict/bbc sherlock’s version is my least favourite sherlock out of the modern adaptations
  • i honestly feel like rdj and jlm/their respective versions are far better

Bless this post.

now i know the cumberbatch fans are going to hate on this post but what is up with benedict cumberbatch and his annoying opinion?

Seriously. its almost like he has to say something cynical about every show he’s not on. Elementary is going to be a kick-ass show. it doesn’t take anything from sherlock so benedict and his ‘opinions’ can shove it.

For some reason, he thinks he’s ordained to be the one and only sherlock holmes. ugh, shut up.

Let’s clarify something.

If some new fanbase for “Elementary” springs up.

We kill them all.

#YOU’D THINK THAT KILLING PEOPLE WOULD MAKE THEM LIKE BBC SHERLOCK #BUT IT DOESN’T #IT JUST MAKES THEM DEAD

You’re gonna need to try harder, OP. Maybe wank some about how Jonny Lee Miller is wearing a coat and speaking with a British accent?

Sigh, I’m really glad I don’t like Sherlock(BBC) at all or I would be hurt by how crazy some parts of fandom are being. And Lucy Liu is the only thing giving Elementary some pull so enough about her, so seriously fuck off. It amazes me how people will eat up anything with some woobie white male lead.

Filed under sherlock elementary i can't with sherlock period i only liked the first guy ritchie film and meh with the rest

London, that great cesspool into which all the loungers and idlers of the Empire are irresistibly drained.

[…] try to imagine fandom’s reaction if the next big Holmes adaptation to come along had Holmes and Watson as British, yeah - young black British men, living case to case on a council estate in a dodgy area of London. How fandom would react if Sherlock Holmes didn’t employ street kids and homeless people like trained animals to do his bidding, but instead was part of that invisible underclass; if instead of having his eccentricities tolerated~ by Scotland Yard on account of being the Great White Genius, Sherlock Holmes, BME, school dropout, and sometime addict, was regarded by the police as practically a criminal already, one more thug, one more junkie, one more dealer in the making. If he had to choose between buying the week’s groceries or palming a twenty to a bored constable for the chance to spend five minutes on a crime scene, in the hope that whoever’s under enough pressure to deal with crime rates in the neighbourhood will pay him enough for a perp to feed himself and Watson for a month or two. If the greatest threat to his safety were police brutality, or the prospect of being done for a snitch; if his arch enemy weren’t Moriarty, but the systemic poverty and inequality that has him helping out his oppressors just to get by, and that makes the other side of the law look more tempting to someone with his skills every day.

Three crushes all on one show. One day we will get a show with multiple female leads that isn’t a comedy geared towards women. There needs to be more diversity for women out there.
Also so much hair porn….

Sigh I really hate how I can’t respond to someone reblogging my response to a post but accusing someone of concern-trolling in regards to Lucy Liu’s casting is shitty when I have already stated that the bigger issue here is who they have cast for Sherlock (wet-rag pretty boy actor) and the writers are from Medium who suck. Also Lucy should be Sherlock. End of Story.

And for the record, I don’t like Sherlock (BBC) because they cast amazing women and give them shite roles. Also, I’m not sure their plots make sense. But whatever….
